Brewing a Better World

Brewing a Better World, launched in 2010, is our long-term approach for creating shared, sustainable value for our business and our stakeholders.

Over the last few years we have taken some important steps to make sustainability a business imperative rather than something that lies outside our normal business operations. Today, it is one of our six key business priorities. Each focus area is underpinned by clear commitments that state our ambitions for 2020, with three-year milestones to be achieved by 2018.

The idea of sustainability as a business imperative means that we act now to mitigate the impact of environmental and social risks and that we look at ways to create genuine economic opportunities for both our business and our stakeholders.

We currently focus on six key areas where we and our stakeholders believe we can make the biggest difference:

  • Protecting water resources
  • Reducing CO₂ emissions
  • Sourcing sustainably
  • Advocating responsible consumption
  • Growing with communities
  • Promoting health & safety

2015 was a pivotal year in our Brewing a Better World journey towards our 2020 commitments. See our Sustainability Report for our progress against the milestones set out for 2015. We also set new milestones for 2018.
